YES, Diddy and Jermaine Dupri Should Do a VERZUZ Battle!!!
This Would Be An Epic Night for the Culture.
Sean “Puffy/Puff Daddy/P. Diddy/Diddy/Love” Combs and Jermaine Dupri “JD” Mauldin are iconic record label owners, producers, rappers, and ushers of iconic eras in rap and hip-hop culture. (For the remainder of this article, Combs will be referred to as Diddy, and Dupri will be referred to as JD.)
With Diddy representing New York and JD representing Atlanta, they each made their respective regions beam with pride with the establishment of their record labels that put their respective cities on the map and caused us to jam to hit after hit and remix after remix from artist after artist. New York and Atlanta can argue who created the remix and who perfected it, but collectively, Diddy and JD represent the East coast brilliantly with timeless hits and flawless remixes.
I can see it now!
JD comes out and does his part to Welcome to Atlanta, followed by Diddy’s entrance with his verse on the Coast 2 Coast Remix of Welcome to Atlanta that welcomes everyone to New York. That set alone shows their ability to write, rap, perform, remix, represent their cities, and collaborate. What a way to start the night!
