The ancestors were in the kitchen providing divine guidance as Jesse Collins and his team cooked this year’s 2025 BET Awards. It had all the right flavor and seasoning. We all went to sleep full last night!
This was the best BET Awards Show in years!
Timing and Dress Code Changes
The BET Awards usually air on the third or fourth Sunday of June. This year, it aired earlier in the month and on a Monday night. That threw many of us off.
For the first time, BET implemented a dress code, which helped bring more class to the show because, in recent years, the show became very ratchet and disrespectful (borderline ghetto), especially with greats in the room like Dr. Bobby Jones.
The Stars
Everyone who graced the stage as a presenter or performer was an actual star and reputable person in their genre. We did not have social media influencers — even when the camera panned the audience. We knew the people and could vouch for their credibility to attend and participate in the biggest night in Black culture.
