I have admired Nick Cannon’s longevity in the entertainment industry. He started as a cute, funny teen on Nickelodeon in the 90s. His acting career has done well over the years, as he has managed to secure and carry some milestone movies such as Drumline and Love Don’t Cost a Thing. He has dabbed into comedy and music — with debatable success on the latter, which provided great jokes on his original MTV show, Wild’n Out. This show, as well as his executive position at Nick Jr, really put the pedal to the metal for Nick’s elevation into the industry as more than just an entertainer, but a leader and influencer of television and culture, showing his breadth from wholesome children content to unfiltered adult entertainment. He continues to remain a household name with his awesome hosting of The Masked Singer, and I was really looking forward to him getting his talk show after his great run as a guest host for Wendy Williams a couple of years ago.
