I don't believe anyone is trying to create a new word. Iyanlya asked Eboni if she would date someone who drives buses, e.g. a bus driver. I used that conversation to help people understand that bus drivers are not just people who drive buses when it comes to dating. A scrub is a guy who thinks he's fly and is also known as a buster, per the first line of No Scrubs.
