Great article! WE are part of the problem, too. We take any little black film and run to see it cause we're glad to get any scraps offered from Hollywood. It is not enough to have an all-Black cast or a story about Black people and some (a lot) of us don't know any better (which is why Tyler Perry movies keep doing so well, but that's another story...). So until we become smarter and stop running to everything Oprah, Tyler, or whoever does and start seeing things from the lens you wrote about, it will continue to be a problem.
