BEY Like Beyonce: Do What You Were Born to Do on Your Birthday
--
At this point, I am going to stop giving Beyonce the credit because I realize God uses certain people to embody what he desires for and of us. He wants us to use however many bags of talent He (the Master) gave us (His servants) (Matthew 25:14–30), so that our God-given gift can make room for us and put us before great men (Proverbs 18:16) to do “good works, which God prepared in advance to do.” (Ephesians 2:10) That is Beyonce.
So, I am not going to credit her for doing a concert on her birthday nor will I credit her for doing a concert the night before her birthday. No, I am not crediting Beyonce for sandwiching her birthday between two sold-out stadium shows. No.
I credit God for showing us that it feels SO GOOD to do what we were called to do that we want to do it on our birthday! Forget what you would do for free. Do what you would love to do — even on your birthday!
When I step back and look at it, it makes so much sense! What more of an honor to your life, God, and God’s works in your life than to do what you LOVE to do and were BORN to do on the day you were BORN?!?!
The real flex is that 60,000 people paid hundreds to thousands of dollars to be with Beyonce on her birthday as she did what she was born to do. That’s when you know you’ve impacted the Kingdom. When people flock to see you perform on your birthday for the divine alignment of your gifts and your birth — that’s special!
God trained Beyonce for this moment. There were times during those early Destiny’s Child days when she worked on her birthday because of her relentless commitment to get to the legendary status she now has. She sort of had no choice if she was going to make certain commitments that would bring her and her group closer to their destiny (every pun intended).
Then, in 2006, she released her second solo album, B’Day, on the day after her birthday. Her birthday was spent performing Deja Vu and doing press for her album. She once told the story of how her record label gave her dates for the album release. She chose the album release date for her birthday, which was kind of smart because she was celebrated everywhere she went that week. As a person now operating in my gifts, I realize that it is a gift to yourself…
